The magic of the extraordinary

Since 1958 the name of “Bernd Gruber” has stood for genuine hand-craftsmanship, highest possible quality and for a certain special feeling for rooms in which there is one and only one focus: the person. For that reason, it has become the uppermost principle to simply listen to one’s client, to hear his/her wishes and needs, to read between the lines and to approach each project with the maximum empathy. Today Philipp Hoflehner alongside Philipp and Michael Gruber lead the company whose greatest motivation is to design contemporary interior architecture which is elevated above the mainstream, which lets materials and shapes speak for themselves, yet which in spite of that, remains grounded and accessible.

What can be deciphered is a handwriting which reveals the special approach of this company: a particular mixture of perfectionist thinking, know-how and creativity which manages to merge with the wishes of the client in infinitely individual ways. From the first initial idea there comes a plan, which leads to a refined selection of noble woods, natural stones, metals and textiles and takes on form, shaped by precisely harmonized preferences. This profound harmony is achieved through weaving together a vast assembly of different processes, the threads of which flow from the central spirit of Bernd Gruber.

For a four-floor townhouse in the centre of the pulsating heart of Kitzbühel, the philosophy of Bernd Gruber once again found itself perfectly realised. A dream-come-true assembly of rooms which were representative yet at the same time formed an intimate sanctuary, an expansive well-being area and a spacious outdoor oasis wreathed in natural materials and cloaked in alpine charm. Genuineness reflected in every detail, the honesty of craftsmanship everywhere visible, from the hammered bronze surfaces to custom-fitted wood stairs to the natural stone found on every floor. “A home with character and with heart,” was the ultimate salute given by the builder.
