STREIFZUG Kitzbühel | Ausgabe 58 | Winter 2025
In the middle of the densely populated 11th arrondissement in Paris, the Munich interior studio Holzrausch has created an oasis which emanates a unique type of minimalistic ease. Behind the simple gate and an elongated inner courtyard, a family house opens up to vision – a homage to wood as a superior material and the fine art of simplification. The client desired an environment that breathed. No art on the walls, no decorations, no distractions. Everything is built-in, the lighting is recessed, appliances are hidden. The style: serene, Japanese-inspired, timeless.

Implementing the concept took about 18 months. According to Holzrausch the project presented no unusual challenges, although it required an inordinate amount of time until the precise demands of the designers and the client could be fulfilled. But “what was most demanding was coordinating the craftsmen, the electricians and other workers. We had a plasterer from Italy, the massive oaken floors were from Denmark…the stairs were produced in Bavaria, and the lighting came from Denmark“, told Tobias Petri.
