Marcel Eberharter and his team follow an Inside-Out approach that places the human being – along with their habits, needs, and personal rituals – at the heart of every architectural project. Each design grows from the inside out, shaped by the residents’ individual sense of living. In this way, spaces emerge that reflect the full depth of their personalities, tell meaningful stories, and give rise to lasting, sustainable values. The process spans the entire journey, from the first spark of inspiration to implementation and, ultimately, the moment the key is handed over.

A clear example of this philosophy can be seen in “Villa Vertikale” in Munich. Rather than opting for a straightforward renovation, the
Inside-Out approach led to an entirely new spatial quality. A previously labyrinthine layout was transformed into fluid, flowing surfaces that create openness, clarity, and connection – symbolized by a central staircase that gently unites all levels of the home.
Whereas the “Muschelvilla am Hang” in the province of Salzburg reveals this approach in a particularly sensitive way. The starting point was a complex topography combined with the desire for privacy. Eberharter responded by creating a protective, scallop-shaped shell: closed to the outside world yet unfolding its refined qualities and exceptional living comfort to those within. Each architectural decision was guided by the residents’ personal world.

At the comprehensive Architecture and Design Studio Eberharter, architecture, design, and interior concepts blend seamlessly. This interdisciplinary way of working enables solutions that go far beyond pure aesthetics – transforming a “home” into an authentic expression of the people who inhabit it.
