A summer full of stories

Sometimes there are summer evenings that you never forget. It’s precisely those kinds of evenings which the Sommertheater Kitzbühel has been presenting for 25 years. What began in the year 2000 is today a crossroad of special encounters and unforgettable occasions. With passion and unending dedication, artistic director Michaela Reith has generated a cultural institution which can touch a nerve and bring people together.

For its 25-year anniversary, the Sommertheater is staging “Rent a Friend” by Folke Braband, a superbly entertaining comedy full of rocking humour, heartfelt warmth and surprising shifts and turns. With MORE25, the Sommertheater expands its jubilee summer with some scintillating highlights: “Sternstunden” (16th July), “SOKO Schneewittchen” (09th August) and “Vorhang auf” with Heinz Marecek (16th August).

The dazzling culmination of the jubilee summer is the gala premiere of “Rent a Friend” on 30th July 2026 including aperitif, finger food buffet and a very special premiere celebration. The curtain rises every Thursday and Friday until 21st August.
