The beginning of a new era
When Dr. Christian Harisch – one of the new owners of the Sonnbühel since 2008 – met Ivan Marzola, he became acquainted with a man whose family had a deeply rooted love of nature and the mountains, as well as an abiding passion for good food. Preferences that Dr. Harisch shares with Marzola, Italian Super G Champion and Hahnenkamm Downhiller of 1986. It was through Marzola that he got to know the famous Comici Hut, a phenomenon of alpine gastronomy built up by his family in Val Gardena. Over a glass of fine wine, the two decided to adapt and implement the same catering concept for Sonnbühel.
The legendary Sonnbühel therefore lives on. With new gourmet elements and characterised by the very best Italian “Grande Cucina“. Attias Tarlao and Mauro Bagolin – two Italian gourmet chefs – ensure that the exquisite culinary history of the Sonnbühel continues and have taken it to new heights.
Events and Highlights
Sonnbühel has gained a popular reputation for its many highlights, which include “Special Nights“ and themed evenings with a five-course meal, authentic live music and walks by torchlight (6 to 11 pm), as well as for being a particularly relaxing day trip destination for families.
Leading companies including Red Bull have (re)discovered this spiritually empowering venue in Kitzbühel as an ideal location for coporate events. You are advised, however, to book long in advance for the legendary New Year’s Eve party.
