Even after 50 years in business it is still deeply rooted in the family-run Bramberger Company: an abiding and profound love of wood as raw material. That is what made Holzbau Maier to thoroughbred professionals in the sector of wood buildings. And to prove it, they have a list of satisfied customers as long as a tree is tall.
What began with two employees today has no fewer than 140, a hefty operation that has made a hefty name for itself internationally through high quality workmanship, creativity and a passion for wood buildings. In the second generation, it is being led by Gundi and Birgit Maier. The fruit of their success is evident in numerous awards for quality, innovation and health-enhancing construction.
Holzbau Maier “worldwide”
The most spectacular commission in their history arrived in autumn 1995: to build an entire, original Tirolean village in Muju, South Korea. No less fascinating was a block-house construction in Yokohama, Japan in 2009. Then in Vail and Aspen, Colorado, the company completed three projects of old wood which required up to two years of preparations as well as logistics at mind-boggling levels.
A vision of the very best wood
The foundations of Holzbau Maier’s astounding success are anchored in qualified and highly motivated personnel. Over the course of 50 years no fewer than 290 apprentices were educated and trained on the premises. If you ask Birgit and Gundi Maier about their objectives and visions, they agree spontaneously: “We want to raise our standards of quality still further, through investments, but mostly through employees, technology and infrastructure. In other words: we dream wood, and wood buildings, in perfection!”
