Tucked away on Am Hof square in Vienna’s historic first district, the Private Members Club Am Hof 8 has been quietly redefining what an exclusive club can be since its founding in 2022. Housed in a charming residential building dating back to 1508, the club was conceived by Johannes Kattus with a clear vision: to create a retreat built on discretion, substance, and quality – not status or spectacle.

Interior designer Theresa Obermoser translated the building’s centuries-old character into a contemporary aesthetic that feels both intimate and effort-less. Spread across multiple floors, the club brings together two restaurants, three bars, a nightclub, a fitness room, meeting rooms, two boutique hotel rooms, lounge areas, and a rooftop terrace overlooking the Vienna skyline. Membership is strictly by invitation or personal recommendation, deliberately limited to preserve the atmosphere and community spirit. A waiting list reflects steady demand. Members share values, not titles.

A rich cultural programme – consisting of concerts, readings, wine tastings, salon evenings, private film screenings – ensures that Am Hof 8 remains a place of ideas and experience, never mere entertainment. Members also enjoy access to over 35 partner clubs worldwide.
