A family made its alpine-chalet dream come true – complete with retro-flair – on a lot in Neukirchen through the help of Holzbau Maier.
“We were deeply enamoured of the location of our future chalet,” says the developer. “Upon recommendation of someone we knew, we worked together with Holzbau Maier to create a custom-made retro design project according to our very specific wishes.”
Maier’s planning department drafted a clearly-structured house facing towards the sun on this south-facing slope, bestowed it with a high percentage of glass frontage which also neatly frames the view of the Großvenediger’s summit and provides, as an extra reward, a sun-drenched interior. The lower floor houses a foyer, children’s and guest bedroom with baths, a wellbeing area with Jacuzzi and the technical/utility room. The floor above that contains the parents’ sleeping area with terrace which also forms the roof of the carport. Both ground and upper floors are constructed in massive wood, visible at a glance through the striking old-wood facade of the house. Great importance was given to local materials: all the wood comes from nearby forests.
