“Special One“ is the world’s largest sportfishing yacht. At 52 metres, she can reach remote fishing grounds far beyond the range of conventional boats. Her owner had no interest in compromise — he wanted a vessel capable of serious offshore angling without sacrificing comfort. The task of bringing this vision to life went to Royal Huisman, a shipyard better known for sailing yachts.

In the stern, owners and guests battle with Marlin & Co. Inside, “Special One” feels like a luxury yacht.

With six decks and a 12-metre-high tuna tower, “Special One“ is a no-compromise sportfishing machine wrapped in a superyacht package. She combines high-speed performance with the space and amenities expected from a luxury family yacht. Twin MAN engines deliver nearly 12,000 horsepower, pushing her past 32 knots. Thanks to Alustar aluminium and aerospace-inspired engineering, weight was reduced by 12 %, helping her meet ambitious speed targets. Dutch studio Vripack handled the entire design – hull, exterior, and interiors. The semi-displacement hull was refined for minimal drag at both cruising and top speeds. Despite her performance, the yacht’s interior offers the elegance of a true superyacht. The design centres on rich walnut veneer from a single tree, paired with pale ash flooring and touches of stained oak and aquamarine fabrics.

An elevator connects the yacht’s decks. The owner had an entertainment lounge with numerous speakers installed on the foredeck.

The layout maximises every curve of the hull, offering seamless integration of luxury features. A highlight is the upper deck bar, completed with backlit front and a 300-bottle wine cooler. One deck below, the dining area features a striking oval inlay made from 237 pieces of ash and Wengé – a testament to the yacht’s craftsmanship. Enjoying freshly caught fish here feels even more rewarding.
