40 years of Südtirol Classic Schenna

Among the Oldtimer Rallyes, the “Südtirol Classic Schenna” has for a long time numbered among the legends. On the occasion of its 40th anniversary, the town just above Merano rolls out the red carpet for the successful event and its (regular) guests from 05th to 12th July 2026 accompanied by a very special program.

The festivities embrace, among other things, the huge Anniversary Party at village centre, the festive Corso on the Kurpromenade as well as the gala dinner in the Kurhaus of Merano. The centrepiece of the ”Rallye of Sympathy“ nevertheless remains the roadsters and speedsters which have been polished to ultimate degree of lustre for the cruise through the Dolomites, into the Trentino and, of course, back to the centre of Schenna to roll down the catwalk, put themselves in the spotlight, on show for their owners.

Mountains, palm trees, chrome and enjoyment

This unparalleled combination brings decades of success in the “Südtirol Classic Schenna” to a pinnacle point. Because quite apart from the stopwatch on the alpine-mediterranean drive through imposing Dolomite summits, luscious green vineyards and the brilliant sunshine of glistening lakes, it is the fun and joy which are in the foreground. The degree of fun the participants feel in participating is visible, at latest, at the retro-defilée on the “catwalk” of the sophisticated Kurpromenade of Merano on 10th July 2026. They take their bow on the big stage, both pilots and passengers will present themselves in true stylishness of the year of construction of their particular automobile on the Auto-Corso, accompanied by music, dance and a whiff of nostalgia.

And for whomever the path is the goal, the next day, the intervals and breaks of the meticulously selected culinary stopovers along the way are all a part of the overall whole. Also on the occasion of the anniversary of the legendary rallye 2026, whoever might invite the participants exclusively to enter the portals to a Welcome Evening at the festively illuminated and decorated inner courtyard of the Schenna Castle. And outside of that, to take part in an extended festive table of South Tyrolean specialties beneath the arcades of the wine village on Neumarkt Square. There promises to be unlimited “Glitter & Glamour” – after all, all participants will be celebrating this Classic Saturday for the last time at the Merano Kurhaus. In addition to the multi-course dinner, there will be live music, show acts and, of course, the celebratory awards ceremony.

Regulations

At the 40th “Südtirol Classic Schenna” from 05th until 12th July 2026, 120 teams will gather at the start. The assignment to a respective class extends from I (up to/including year of construction 1945) to III (up to 1985). Since in the competition, a feel for timing counts above all else, heavy limousines have just as great a chance of winning as fast roadsters, since certain distances must be covered in the time which is specifically given.

Timmelsjoch-Experience (appx. 130 km). Visit to Europe’s highest-altitude motorcycle museum and lunch at the Panorama Restaurant Crosspoint. In the evening, gourmet table in the vineyards of Feldererhof in Labers.

Tuesday, 07th July
Drive to Ritten Sun Plateau (appx. 170 km) above Bolzano. Visit to Prösels Castle. Lunch at Buschenschank Pfoshof, with views over Schlern and the Dolomites.

Wednesday, 08th July
Vehicle registry at centre of Schenna, vehicle discussion. Merano Land Prologue (appx. 50 km). Classic Welcome Evening at Schenna Castle, Classic-Anniversary Party with Black Peter live band.

Thursday, 09th July
Dolomites drive (appx. 250 km) via Würzjoch (2006 m), Bruneck, Franzensfeste, Vipiteno, Jaufen Pass (2094 m). Festive reception and culinary village festivities in sun village Terenten.

Friday, 10th July
Evening drive to Merano (40 km). Anniversary-Corso on Merano’s Kurpromenade. Flying buffet at Kurhaus, with live music.

Saturday, 11th July
Enjoyment drive along the “Strade del Vino” into Trentino (appx. 180 km). Culinary table beneath the historic vaulted arcades on Neumarkt. Big Anniversary Gala “Glitter & Glamour” in Merano’s Kursaal with awards ceremony, dinner, live music and show acts (shuttle service).

Sunday, 12th July
Early morning drinks at the centre of Schenna, including keg-tapping of the Forst Brewery.
