Project Description

Yachting | 2026

With the 44.5-metre yacht Prometej, the entrepreneurs Dr. Tobias Reichmuth and Aleksandra Jovanovic have embarked on an 18-month expedition to investigate the world’s Blue Zones — regions where people consistently live longer, healthier lives. Coined by researcher Dan Buettner, Blue Zones include Okinawa (Japan), Sardinia (Italy), the Nicoya Peninsula (Costa Rica), Ikaria (Greece), and Loma Linda (California). These areas are linked by common lifestyle factors: plant-based diets, daily physical activity, low stress, and strong social bonds.

The BlueCruise aims to explore both the science and the myths behind these longevity hotspots. The refitted expedition yacht Prometej, originally a Soviet icebreaker, now features twin 940 hp Mitsubishi engines, a 6000-nautical-mile range, and modern amenities for long-range travel. With accommodation for 14 guests across seven cabins — including a full private owner’s deck — the vessel serves as a floating research base. The journey includes some of the most remote parts of the globe: the Northwest Passage, Antarctica, Easter Island, and all five Blue Zones. Beyond observing local lifestyles, the mission will gather scientific data to identify effective longevity strategies. Another key focus of the BlueCruise is personal health optimisation. Guests — who can apply to join part of the voyage — undergo detailed medical diagnostics and receive tailor-made wellness programs created with Ayun Diagnostics and Powercube, specialists in nutrition and fitness.

Dr. Tobias Reichmuth and Aleksandra Jovanovic are currently exploring the world’s Blue Zones aboard the “Prometej”. The world tour is scheduled to last 18 months.
