Project Description

Kitzbühel & Alpine Region | Issue 10 | Autumn 2019

To feel, just once, the way Vincent Kriechmayr feels when he is standing at the starting line in Kitzbühel? To register the surge of adrenaline when you shoot onto the perfectly groomed ski slope? Audi is again creating ideal conditions in the winter season 2019/2020 at the Audi quattro Ski Cup, the amateur ski race series which promises real World Cup feeling. From 7th to 9th February 2020, the ultimate racing experience awaits you.

From the qualifications to the finals

At the Audi quattro Ski Cup, it unfolds just like at the Skiing World Cup. The fastest racers in the Grand Slalom have the chance to qualify for the big world finals. That’s where the elite of ski amateurs from Austria, France, Switzerland and Italy meet up against each other.

The field of participants

All amateur/hobby ski racers, male and female, who are 18 years or older and can master a “red” piste are invited to participate in the Audi quattro Ski Cup. In order to make the amateur ski race as fair as possible, ski instructors and FIS skiers past and present are excluded from the qualifications for the World Finals, however they will be able to showcase their skills in a special category. Ski legends such as Michaela Kirchgasser and Benjamin Raich will be standing at the side of the amateurs with their tips on technique and, among other things, a professional examination of the racing stretch.

Perfect conditions

Audi and its partners are ensuring that the days in Kitzbühel will be unforgettable. Bergbahn AG Kitzbühel will whisk participants swiftly, comfortably and safely to the starting line in state-of-the-art fashion, also generate outstanding snow conditions on the ski run. Superbly educated and trained ski guides from element3, the Audi partner ski school, will supervise and watch over the ski racers. The Kitzbüheler Ski Club, boasting more routine in such matters than just about anyone, will ensure a professionally managed and handled race, just like for the Hahnenkamm competition. And Kitzbühel’s Tourist Office will provide valuable tips for all those spending a bit of time in Chamois Town. All in all, perfect conditions for an experience to beat all experiences.
