What was once a disused indoor pool has been transformed into a luxurious private lounge \u2013 a space that perfectly balances retreat and conviviality. With an acute sense for proportion, materials, and atmosphere, STEININGER has reimagined this area in the Villa R at an annex in Austria, creating a space that is more than just a room \u2013 it\u2019s an expression of a lifestyle. The client\u2019s vision was clear: an unused area had to become an exclusive retreat \u2013 a place for special moments, elegant gatherings, and quiet indulgence. The former pool was removed, and the architecture completely rethought. One principle guided every step: the seamless fusion of elegance, intimacy, and timeless design.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/a><\/span>

By day, the lounge opens generously into the garden through floor-to-ceiling windows \u2013 a bright, tranquil haven. By night, it transforms into a sophisticated club-like atmosphere, shaped by dark, velvety materials, soft textiles, and artfully placed lighting. A custom-designed PURE kitchen by STEININGER stands sculpturally in the space \u2013 minimalist, monolithic, and uncompromisingly refined. The heart of the room is the bar: a staged masterpiece made from deep green marble, reflective surfaces, and an iconic light object by Orbit. An open gas fireplace gently structures the space while radiating warmth and comfort. Wall coverings by Moooi lend depth and character, while furnishings by Living Divani, Paola Lenti, and Roche Bobois complete the interior with tactile sophistication \u2013 ideal for stylish summer evenings. Lighting by Flos choreographs the atmosphere with subtle drama.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/a><\/span>
