With the El-Iseo, the Italian Riva shipyard has now finally done away with its trademark V8 bubbling and launched an all-electric version of its popular Iseo, a 27-foot runabout, and made it completely ready for the market after its premiere.

The El-Iseo has a drive system from Parker Hannifin, a leading US company for drive and control technology, which offers impressive performance in terms of speed and acceleration. With a peak power output of 300 kW, the Parker GVM310 gives the Riva a cruising speed of 25 knots and a self-limited top speed of 40 knots, with a significantly steeper acceleration curve than a boat of a similar size with an internal combustion engine.

On board of the El-Iseo, the two souls of the ship are immediately recognisable. There are the distinctive finishes, colours and details typical of the boats that have made the brand world-famous, but equally striking is the helm station with its fully digital touchscreen dashboard that mimics the analogue gauges of earlier boats. Even the naming of the three cruising modes – Allegro, Andante and Adagio, the tempos of classical music – alludes to the tradition that has inspired all Riva boats.

Like all Riva creations, the new Riva El-Iseo was designed by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, the founders of Officina Italiana Design. Incidentally, the Riva El-Iseo is the first fully electric motorboat to receive RINA category B certification.
