How puristic can rustic design be? Then again, how rustic can purism be? A clear and simple answer to these fundamental questions is provided in the interior design of this Aufschnaiter reference. This beautiful piece of real estate in Brixen captures the imagination of visitors through the spacious, straight-lined rooms and over-dimensioned window fronts. The line which its architectural vision follows is picked up and continued in the interior rooms. Harmony. Clarity. Purism.

As a result of the pleasant and inspiring collaboration of builders and architect, the overall concept which developed and was implemented is consistent and thought through. With respect to room distribution, functionality and the far-reaching harmony of materials, it pursues a clear-cut and unified thread: reduced to what is essential, without any unnecessary distractions, nevertheless full of atmosphere and cosiness. What was most important to the client was that the furnishings in no way distract from the architecture, even less so from surrounding nature. The core idea was to generate this ambitious goal through quiet, harmonious colours.

Then for strong contrasts, accents were set by pieces of furniture. A variety of structures were playfully utilised: natural stone, textiles, unadorned wood as a contrast to old wood, dark-hued furniture as a contrast to the bright interior architecture, round shapes as a con-trast to the puristic, straight-lined design. Slight breaks in style give birth to tensions, lend the overall look a certain excitement. Between the interior and the exterior of a building, a tight and interesting interplay is born.
