Kitzbühel | Ausgabe 57 | Sommer 2025
After nearly 22 years, the Red Bull Hangar-7 in Salzburg has undergone far-reaching renovations. The giant facelift includes new materials, new furniture, exciting newly generated spaces and wide-open perspectives. The merchandise shop has been enlarged, expanded through seasonal collections. In the museum zone, the world of Red Bull is being staged in new ways that make the experience palpable, and the two-wheel vehicle area has been enlarged. A change in the rhythms of daylight and lots of greenery, new seating areas and novel angles of view provide fascinating views of the runways.

Restaurant Ikarus, which has been distinguished with two stars by Guide Michelin, not only has a walk-in wine cabinet now, but also an Ikarus sculpture as an eye-catching centrepiece. The number of tables has been reduced. Also new: the Chef’s Table, which can be reserved for six persons and more on request. The celebrated concept of inviting a never-ending round of guest chefs-de-cuisine will be resumed and maintained indefinitely, starting on 11th June with Thijs Vervloet, the two-star awarded chef from Belgium. During the Salzburg Festival season, the Ikarus team revolving around executive chef Martin Klein will take the reins and present its own creations.
Through a cooperation with the “House of Arts” Red Bull Hangar-7 will house and present revolving exhibitions several times each year. Modular exhibition spaces and progressive design elements now offer stimulating possibilities. In ways well-known to all those who frequent the restaurant the repertoire will be rounded out by television presentations such as “Sport und Talk aus dem Hangar-7” – except that now it’s in a brand-new setting.
Both Red Bull Hangar-7 and the vision of Dietrich Mateschitz remain in dynamic motion – for a fabulously open and hospitable area of face-to-face encounters where you can immerse into the wide world of Red Bull.
