An organic pool ensures unhampered swimming pleasures, further enhancing adventures in the water and heightening living quality. This organic pool project of Eder Gartenarchitektur is a prime example of how meticulous design and a love of detail can generate a vibrant and harmonious connection between human beings and nature.

Under the highly competent direction of the company, an ambitious project was turned to reality which renovated not only the pool, but the entire garden tract. “An organic pool unites all the advantages of a swimming pool with those of a pond resting in nature. Thereby, bathing in an organic pool becomes an experience utterly without any chemical additives, since the water plants, which serve as the hallmark of all swimming ponds, support the purely biological filter system and provide truly natural processes of water purification and quality. Clear, geometric forms dominate in the design of this organic pool. It is then perfected with a filter basin that serves as an independent tank beneath a wooden deck or as a raised reservoir with overflow,” illuminates CEO Hannes Eder.

The top-to-toe renovation …
… of this organic pool demonstrates just how meticulous design and a love of detail can generate a space which is not only beautiful for the eye to behold but also fulfils a deeper purpose and meaning. The first step in renovating the pool was to remove the old stone construction in order to establish ample room for a brand new, modern aesthetic creation. The antiquated pump technology was removed and replaced by a state-of-art efficient organic pool filter technology which implements a perfect symbiosis between ecology and comfort. By constructing new concrete walls the depth of the pool was reduced to 1.5 metres. A powerful turbine counter-current system then raised the swimming experience to an undreamed niveau. Outside of that, an infinity rim was constructed which drew all views to the majestic beauties of the Wilder Kaiser and created a seamless link between pool and surrounding landscape. To top it off, a rolling pool cover with seating bench and elegant glass partition were realised in order to separate the swimming zone from a fountain perched alongside areas of water lilies. The overall pool area was then wreathed in elegant, high-quality black natural stone which not only dazzles the eye of all onlookers, but is long lived besides.
For additional relaxation and pleasure, a putting green with enticing views over the Wilder Kaiser was also generated in the zone. Alongside the staircase, Eder Gartenarchitektur planted the slope with refreshing greenery to reinforce the natural beauty of the garden.

Greening
“Not only the element of water provides deep human relaxation. The plants play a significant role in creating an atmosphere of well-being in one’s own garden paradise,” explains Hannes Eder. What that means in this particular case is easily illustrated: European yew laid out as a low-profile hedge in which standard hornbeam trees stand. In the troughs, Chinese silvergrass (miscanthus) was planted. The hillside was greened with low-profile panicled hydrangea, punctuated by a picturesque mature pine. Rose-coloured big-leaf hydrangea, domed yew and phlox shrubs complete the picture, together with lavender, crimson fountaingrass and numerous other trees and plants. The big maple in the four-cornered atelier tub provides an unbeatable eyecatcher on the terrace. All in all, Eder Gartenarchitektur succeeded once again in creating both an individual source of inspiration and a remembrance that the beauty of nature is usually the best possible source of renewing our own ideas and habits. “May this organic pool be a wellspring of pleasure, relaxation and recuperation for many years,” is the closing remark of Hannes Eder.
