Project Description

BEST OF | Issue 04 | AUTUMN/WINTER 2025/26

In the year 2016, three visionary entrepreneurs – Andreas Dünkel, owner of Motorworld, Dr. Christoph Walther, political parliamentary group president & entrepreneur, and Xander Heijnen, self-confessed “petrol head” – had a revolutionary idea: to establish a club exclusively for private members who were dedicated to the themes of automobiles, racing sports, business, and luxurious lifestyles. They transformed their vision to reality in 2019 when the Drivers & Business Club Germany officially opened its gates.

Streifzug: Sandra, what exactly is meant by the term “club exclusively for private members”?
Sandra Zanetti: What we mean by the term is a place of trust and familiarity, of personal exchange and communication, and of far-reaching favourable feelings of members for one another. And underpinning all this, our special concept of service. We would like to provide our current and future members with a space which they can truly feel all-round good in. The fundamental principle behind a club as a kind of refuge is something which has longstanding tradition in the Anglo-Saxon world. Coalescing with our own club are the connections and access we have to more than 250 private member clubs all over the world which our own members can take advantage of whenever they wish.

Streifzug: Jasper, how can we best visualize the DRIVERS & BUSINESS CLUB GERMANY, what image does it cast?
Jasper Walther: The club is housed in a large industrial building, which is historically listed and protected, over an area of 3900 m². It was built in Bauhaus style in 1925. Our members are highly influential personalities hailing from the worlds of sport, business, society who all share a passion for automobiles. The club building provides not only fine dining and rooms for a variety of events, but also a cigar lounge with humidor, a library, a wine cellar, its own cinema and offices dealing with infrastructure. It supplies a lively and animated meeting place for spirited conversations among like-minded people who are on the same frequency and opens other doors to them all over the world.

Streifzug: Sandra, what do you have to do to become a member?
Sandra Zanetti: The club has blossomed through its unique culture of recommendation. Whoever is recommended by at least two members and whose admission is approved by the board receives an invitation to join. You might claim that we have set up a rather strict gateway, but precisely that is important to us, since members have to blend and harmonize, despite all individual dissimilarities.

Streifzug: Jasper, what are the future plans of the club?
Jasper Walther: We are making unflagging efforts to expand our offerings and to continually deliver pleasant surprises to our members. Our goal is to keep the club dynamic, always developing new facets and evolving further. We have a number of exciting projects in the pipeline which will be honed and then turned to reality during the next few years.
