Looked at from afar this is an intersection of culinary spirit-of-discovery and highest demands-for-quality. But above all else, it is a vision which has been turned to reality – one which repeatedly delivers unexpected surprises. All of that is the Restaurant Ikarus in Red Bull Hangar-7.
An evening spent in Restaurant Ikarus is far more than fine dining. It becomes an excursion into entirely new aromatic worlds. Here, the spiciness of Thailand meets the down-to-earth nature of Poland – and the trendy minimalism of Nordic cuisine joins hands with the earthy flavour of Brazilian arrowroot.

Under the Wings of Ikarus: The Ikarus Restaurant, the culinary centrepiece of Red Bull Hangar-7, has been reimagined. In addition to a walk-in wine cellar, an Ikarus sculpture serves as a central design element.

The Digital Ikarus Experience …
… makes all these moments available online. Month after month, it invites you to immerse yourself in the home countries and philosophies of the guest chefs, visit the best restaurants in the world, and experience how the guest chef menu is created. And for those who would like to get to know the people who make your personal visit to the Restaurant Ikarus so unforgettable, leafing through the pages of the guest chef archives invites you to a deeper glance into the cast of multifaceted characters orchestrating these ongoing culinary events. Outside of that, you can also reserve a table online.

A culinary journey around the world
Executive Chef Martin Klein introduces guest chefs from all over the world and brings extraordinary dishes and ingredients into the spotlight. But this time, things are a bit different: In line with the extensive makeover of Red Bull Hangar-7 and Restaurant Ikarus, the popular book series “Ikarus invites the world‘s best chefs” has also been completely redesigned. Clear layouts, top-level food photography, and a trendy softcover format set the stage for encounters on the international scene of top chefs. Conversations with the guest chefs offer deep insights into their stories, culinary philosophies, and working methods; travel tips bring their home regions to life. In addition, each month an outstanding product from the guest chef’s menu is presented.

The Digital Experience of Restaurant Ikarus makes the landing spot of top chefs accessible online. Each month, the Ikarus team invites guests to immerse themselves in the home countries and philosophies of the guest chefs, visit the best restaurants in the world, and experience how the guest chef menu is created – from the initial idea to the final menu composition, including perfectly paired wines.

As a guest at the new Restaurant Ikarus
For 22 years Restaurant Ikarus (awarded two Michelin stars, 5 toques/19 points in Gault&Millau) has been the landing runway for 270 (counting until now) top international chefs from 40 different countries. This is where the best in the world tell their culinary stories, hand-selected by Executive Chef and Ikarus mastermind Martin Klein. Each and every month the kitchen opens its doors to a new guest chef. And thereby, also to new impressions, influences, fresh inspirations and tantalizing aromas. In October Sven Erik Renaa from Norway showed his culinary arts, in November Tim Mälzer and Friends will follow in his footsteps, and in December guests can look forward to the visit of Álvaro Salazar from Mallorca. As part of the renovation of Red Bull Hangar-7, the Restaurant 2025 also underwent a visionary redesign. The number of tables in the indoor area was reduced to provide guests with an even more intense experience. High-quality natural materials such as stone, leather, and smoked oak, as well as warm colour accents and clean lines, invite guests to linger beneath the new, spectacular Ikarus sculpture.
