Project Description

Yachting | 2024

With the Grande line, the Italian brand Azimut expanded its post portfolio years ago to include veritable formats beyond 26 metres. The latest addition to this exquisite series is the Grande 36M, which is positioned between the 32M and the Trideck. While Azimut specified the concept – the yacht was to convey openness, freshness and innovation – the creative implementation was the responsibility of Italian designer Alberto Mancini. One highlight, particularly in terms of innovation, is the first semi-circular upper deck in the series. Extensive use was made of carbon fibre in the construction of the yacht in order to reduce the weight of the superstructure, making it lighter and therefore more efficient. The Grande 36M is available with either two MTU engines with 2,200 hp or 2,400 hp. The latter give her a speed of up to 24 knots and a cruising speed of 18 knots. Azimut commissioned the famous Achille Salvagni to design the spaces, which makes the 36M an all-Italian affair, as the entire design and construction team comes from Italy. Achille Salvagni’s design style is characterized by unexpected details and organic shapes. For example, a light is embedded in the ceiling above the dining table, reminiscent of a sculptural work of art. In other places, the lamps literally “grow” out of the furniture, giving it an organic, seamless aesthetic.
