Sustainable is becoming increasingly important even in superyachting, which tends to be less than sustainable – many owners, especially younger ones, are demanding ecologically correct solutions. With the Sunreef 43M Eco, the Polish shipyard debuted what it dubbed the “ultimate eco-catamaran” in January 2022, and in the meantime the first unit has been sold. Tim Quinlan, sales broker at Ocean Independence, closed the deal at the Monaco Yacht Show 2022. The hull, superstructure and other 43M Eco components feature integrated solar panels that power the yacht with green energy, while advanced hydrogenerators generate clean electricity for zero-emissions cruising and produce a virtually infinite range. Highlights of the 43M Eco include a large aft “Ocean Lounge” that connects the aft deck, swim platform and fold-out balconies into a single space.
