A mahogany runabout from Sarnico is part of the jet-set lifestyle, especially in the 1960s and 1970s. Riva owners, they are not so much boat enthusiasts or people who focus on a decent cost-benefit factor. They are the rich and beautiful, the movie stars, the party-loving industrialists, the playboys and royals of the economic miracle era. Many years later, a completely new chapter is to begin for the ship-yard founded in 1842. At the turn of the millennium, when the Ferretti Group (including Ferretti Yachts, Itama, Custom Line, CRN) acquires what is perhaps the most interesting boat brand in the world and decides to stop offering wooden Rivas, even not-so-enthusiastic yacht aficionados throw their hands up in horror.
But when the current CEO Alberto Galassi then takes up his job, he immediately realizes what a jewel he has in his portfolio with Riva and chooses the shipyard from Sarnico as one of the most important if not the most important brand in the conglomerate. By the way, one of the most important Riva dealers has its headquarters on the beautiful Lake Maggiore. Poroli Special Boats sells exclusively in Switzerland and Germany. In addition to the headquarters in Ascona, the company also has branches in Mallorca Puerto Portals, Grünwald and Düsseldorf. By the way, Riva celebrated in 2022 in three ways: Riva was 180 years old, the top model Aquarama was built for the first time 60 years ago and Carlo Riva, the long-time “engine” of the shipyard, would have been 100 years old.
